Introduction to ArcGIS I
Overview
This
course introduces participants to ArcGIS™ and provides the
foundation for becoming a successful ArcView®, ArcEditor™, or
ArcInfo™ user. Participants learn how to use ArcMap™,
ArcCatalog™, and ArcToolbox™ and explore how these applications
work together to provide a complete GIS software solution. The
course covers fundamental GIS concepts as well as how to query a
GIS database, manipulate tabular data, edit spatial and attribute
data and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and
charts.
This
course is for those who are new to ArcGIS and new to geographic
information systems in general.

Prerequisites and recommendations
Participants should know how to use windowing software. This
course provides the fundamental ArcGIS knowledge and experience
needed to enroll in Introduction to ArcGIS II as well as
several other ESRI courses. Participants who complete this course
should not enroll in Migrating from ArcView 3.x to ArcView 8
as many of the topics are similar. Visit www.esri.com/training

Cost
$650.00
per person. All course materials are provided and an ESRI
Certificate of Completion is awarded to each student. A
non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve your
seat. Balance of $550.00 due at first course meeting.

All
training takes place at the University of Louisville Center for
GIS. We are located on the Belknap Campus in Lutz Hall, Room
224.
